M and I were building cabinets today and noticed a mama mockingbird coming back and forth with food in her mouth. I noticed her flying into a Crepe Mertle. I told M that I bet there was a nest with babies. We went to check it out and this is what we found. Click to enlarge the baby photo's for a better view.

Those mouths are so big, I doubt if mama is going to find enough food to fill that hollow space. :)

OM Gosh Craig... you were right I love these photos. You could drive a VW bug into those very big open bright yellow mouths. I had to laugh when I saw them!! Mom and dad have their work cut out for them if they expect to fill up those gaping holes. Nice nice pictures. You just gotta love this time of year and babies! Thanks for your kind comments as always over on my blog.
Those are some big mouths to fill.Jake and I found a Mockingbird nest today as well.These birds are somewhat out of their range,but seem to be doing very well.

That is a very bright shade of yellow. I think they are expecting you to feed them!
Great photos. I would have thought it was late for baby birds to be hatching. I thought they'd all have left their nests by now, but maybe this is normal for this type of bird.
