Isn't she a beauty? I love how the blue striping on her wing feathers looks as though she's adorned herself with a few jewels to take away from her plain-ness. Very nice capture. ~karen

Hi Craig!

I just found your blog and am so glad I did. I have been fostering a Mallard duckling since the day it hatched, eight weeks ago tomorrow. We have released her and she is now integrating (fairly) successfully into the wild. She's taken to the water - at least when threatened, and is getting more familiar with the existing flock. I will be posting tomorrow (I hope) on her successful release. Stop by some time when you have time...
